With Fall now in full swing, taking a look at the housing market right here in the Durham Region gives us all a sense of confidence. Much like our weather, our market continues it’s strong carry over from the Summer. Although the number of transactions were down in September from August, the number of newly listed homes rose 24% in September to 1823 new listings compared to just 1466 the previous month. It seems both buyers and sellers remain confident in our healthy housing market.
Another positive sign about the continued strong market is the average price indicator. Here in the Durham Region, the average sale price for homes reached $587,009, up 0.81% from this time last year. This is both great news for sellers and buyers alike as not only does the increase provide positive returns for sellers, but the average sale price continues to make the Durham Region one of the most attractive and affordable areas of the GTA in which to call home.
